Proxmox Backup Servers offline after upgrade from 3.1 to 3.2 (large drives)

On both my PBS servers this morning I’m getting the following. Both PBS server has more than 2 TB drives, which might be of relevant.

attempt to read or write outside of disk ‘hd0’ proxmox

Both servers are unbootable. So far the only information:

Let’s try UEFI boot:

Rebooting doesn’t work because the machine isn’t started up and there is no qemu-guest-agent. So force stop. But since the disk is locked after attempting a reboot, it’s best to wait for that to time out.

Then start again, and it works!

Albeit one small warning:

WARN: no efidisk configured! Using temporary efivars disk.

For now we’ll ignore that warning.
